Andrew’s detailed knowledge of design, products and construction techniques made him the obvious choice to represent Smarter Bathrooms on the HIA Bathrooms & Kitchen Committee. Andrew is also frequently asked to speak at trade nights and the Home Idea Centre in Melbourne. Ten years of experience within the industry is put to good use designing renovation projects for new and existing clients. As with all the Smarter Bathrooms Directors Andrew maintains hands on approach. After design Andrew’s main focus is customer service. He strongly believes that the construction industry does not set high enough goals in this area and the basics of communication, honesty and respect are often missing. Andrew’s passion is reflected in the service Smarter Bathrooms provide. Andrew in his spare time enjoys surfing, swimming, watching rugby and spending quality time with his family and friends. |

Vanessa Cook Interior Designer |

Vanessa is a vibrant designer and well known within the industry, her designs have been features in all the Melbourne press, Kitchen & Bathrooms Quarterly from 1998 - 2010 as well as Trends Magazine. She has won numerous awards including:
Vanessa’s success is due to her ability to listen to her clients, understand their needs and deliver tailored designs for them. Having 15 years experience in the industry Vanessa is at home discussing detailed construction techniques with the building team as she is designing or helping the drafting department. Out of hours, Vanessa spends as much time as possible travelling, visiting galleries & museums, walking, or catching up with family and friends. |

Alex Heaton Building Manager |
|
Alex brings 20 years of building knowledge to Smarter Bathrooms. Following on from his Construction Management degree he is passionate about making sure that all aspects of the renovation process go smoothly and ate done to the award winning Smarter Bathrooms standard. Alex spends a large amount of time training and working with designers to make sure they are aware of the built environment they are designing in, Recently Alex developed the Fast Track system, allowing full renovations to be completed in 7 days. As with the other directors Alex has a very hands on approach carrying out Building Inspections before projects commence and working with the building team on site to make sure everything runs smoothly. Outside of work Alex enjoys spending time with family and friends, cycling, playing squash and travel. |

Nick Piacente Finance and Administration Director |

Nick has a pivotal role within Smarter Bathrooms by bringing the Design, Building and administrative departments together. The majority of the check and balances put in place and completed by Nick and his team are not seen by our clients but they certainly benefit from them. Nick as a registered red Builder is also heavily involved in Building Inspections, site meetings. When not working Nick enjoys Fishing and spending quality time with family and friends. |

Russell Henderson Bathroom Designer |
|
By way of hand drawn 3D sketches and top down plans Russell has a unique gift in presenting concepts. His clients benefit from his ability to think laterally and create designs in response to their needs. Russell’s depth of building knowledge is derived from his family building background. In 2008 Russell’s hard work was rewarded when he won the HIA Best Bathroom under $20,000. Russell’s brief was not the easiest; it was to create a peaceful Japanese themed bathroom in a relatively small space with a modest budget. The judges agreed that the results were exceptional as shown below. In his spare time Russell enjoys cycling, art and spending time with his young family and friends. |

Susan’s clients are immediately put at ease by her warm and caring personality. Having run her own company Susan knows that a successful renovation relies on tying up all loose ends she knows that the devil is in the detail. “Walking in your client’s shoes” is an idea that Susan is passionate about, it is how she understands and design with her clients. It is not uncommon to hear that Susan had supper with a client while completing one area of the design! Susan’s design skills are also second to none after working within the industry for over 15 years, working for herself and leading design companies. |

Olivia Ng Interior Designer |

Olivia graduated from Bachelor of Interior Architecture at Monash University in 2006. During her studies she developed a strong interest in residential design and has been fortunate enough to have been able to be involved in this area for the bulk of her career since her graduation. Olivia is passionate about creating spaces where people can enjoy, relax and indulge. Innovative design and detail is emphasised and she always strives to create solutions for her clients desires - her key is to listen and understand. She has always been hard working and her efforts have been recognised not only from graduating with Honors but also from the feedback we receive from her clients and the outcome of her projects. |
