I had my Bathroom renovated by the smarter bathrooms team and from the very first meeting I felt I was in good hands. The whole process was done so professionally and gave me peace of mind as I was away overseas during the entire renovation, in... addition being a single female living on their own it was especially daunting to go through a renovation on my own, however I felt looked after the whole way through. While away I was kept up to date with emails, texts, WhatsApp messages which was really helpful. My bathroom is unbelievably beautiful and it feels like I have a new apartment. We reached out to smarter bathroom when our existing bathroom’s tiles and floor broke through due to the previous renovator’s poor waterproofing work and repairs or renovations really weren’t an option anymore.We were a bit worried about the... timing as I was 6-7 months pregnant at the time and were worried that having renovations with a newborn would be too stressful.We decided to go ahead and get a quote and initial design. We worked with Ava. She came over and I shared with her my thoughts on layout and design and what we were looking for. She absolutely nailed the renders and what we were looking for. She was absolutely great to work and collaborate with.The SB+ team were transparent about the range of costs from the start but also about what in the design would drive the price up or down or what we could play around with or items we could save in our existing bathroom to make things fit with our budget.In the end they shared a timeline with us working with our concerns around my due date and were transparent the whole way about what periods might cause a bit of noise or disruption or not.During the project, our project manager was Mirnes and he was fantastic. In fact everyone who SB+ sent over to our house was lovely and respectful. They did a good job protecting our house and cleaned up after themselves everyday. They were often done by the early afternoon. I work from home and with a lot of calls and meetings so having people who were going to be considerate was crucial and SB+ really delivered. They were open and communicative with us throughout the project and did everything they could to accelerate the timeline.In the end the project went really well and we absolutely love our new bathroom! Mirnes and his team have such a great attention to detail and picked up and fixed things that I didn’t even notice. You can tell that they do work to last for a longtime.Would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a stress free and well managed project with high end finishes and a great bathroom at the end!read more

From planning to completion, Dee (designer), Deepthi (detailer), Nick Long (project manager) and the wonderful team of trades (from demolition to final touches - carpenter, plasterer, electrician, tiler, caulker, plumber, glazier) have given us the... most beautiful new bathroom. So impressed with the detailed planning and patience whilst changing and tinkering during the planning process. During the build, we made a couple of necessary changes, and a couple of optional ones. All work was accomplished without fuss, with great detail, and executed with beautiful workmanship. Thank you Nick for including us with all the decision making along the way, calmly dealing with the hiccups, providing options for problem solving, and listening to my ideas and making my vision happen. A seamless experience from concept through to completion. This is a highly professional outfit from the initial consultation and design to an incredibly straightforward contract, expert friendly trades, outstanding workmanship and superb, efficient... project management with great communication. Alex and the team did everything they could to make sure we were happy with the outcome and with a very high attention to detail. Any issues were communicated with photos and an explanation where necessary and unlike other builders I have dealt with, you always felt that you were dealing with a straight shooter with high emotional intelligence. In addition they were incredibly tidy and clean, protected walls and furniture and took their health & safety obligations seriously. The final completion pack with all relevant guarantees, compliance certificates, insurance details and maintenance recommendations capped off a great experience, not to mention that they finished 2 weeks before the estimated completion date. So happy with our renovations with Smarter bathrooms + !! From the design, through the renovation process to sign off it was seamless and stressless. They took care of everything and it turned out exactly how we had planned and finished according to... the schedule. They pride themselves in taking care of the detail and they care about what they’re doing.Whoever runs that place has got it down to a fine art. Working with Ellen and Lauren to plan the design, then with Nick to manage the build. Communication was excellent and they’re all lovely authentic people. We couldn’t be happier and absolutely love living in our new home.Our renovation was a fairly big job with two bathrooms, one kitchen, one laundry, all lighting and flooring replaced throughout the house. They respected our home and our time, keeping the job site as clean as possible... during the upgrades. We are grateful to Ellen (Designer), Hettel (Detailed work) and Mirnes (Project Manager), in addition to the wider SB+ team, for all of their efforts. Living in regional Victoria and tackling an apartment kitchen and bathroom renovation in Melbourne seemed quite overwhelming until we met with Ellen from Smarter Bathrooms +. Ellen was phenomenal, in her easy going nature, great communication skills... and interior design expertise. It was a super easy process to come up with the designs we liked and make any changes we needed. Everyone in the process has been fabulous, John. Hettel, Alex and the constant being Ellen. From first meeting to handover we have a beautiful kitchen, laundry and bathroom in less than 5 months with minimal downtime out of the apartment. All the trades have been high quality and respectful keeping on track the whole way. Regular updates, FaceTime and photos being sent through when we couldn’t be there. We cannot recommend Smarter Bathrooms enough, 5 Stars!!read more

I cannot rate Smarter Bathrooms highly enough.They were recommended to me, and as a busy working parent, I didn’t have the time to manage trades or source materials myself. Choosing a one-stop shop was the best decision I could have made, and... Smarter Bathrooms exceeded every expectation with their professionalism and excellence.The entire process was seamless (and quick!) and every team member was a pleasure to deal with. Communication was clear and proactive throughout, so I always felt informed and supported. In my professional career, I work with contractors regularly, and Smarter Bathrooms truly impressed me with their processes and attention to detail.We started with one large bathroom containing a toilet, bath, and shower, but our family had outgrown the space and needed a separate toilet. A truly 5-star experience with Smarter Bathrooms.They are not cheap - and some on here won't get past the quote stage before declaring "overpriced" etc.But as is famously said "Good stuff ain't cheap, cheap stuff ain't good"....and here are... the reasons - they employ top tradespeople who do a thorough and proper job so that, not only does the end result look fantastic, but you know all that beauty is underpinned by quality workmanship and attention to the detail that really matters and ensures decades of use to come.They bring in a wide range of specialist tradespeople, all of it expertly project managed in a timely fashion.Our project involved a kitchen, two bathrooms, a laundry, butler's pantry and a separate toilet (and a full timber re-flooring).As a result we had* waterproofing experts* plumbers* electricians* carpenters* cabinet makers* tilers* corking specialists* flooring specialists* painters* plasterers* designersand of course, the Project Manager.You try and arrange and coordinate all of that and make sure all the work is of the highest quality.A big project and all of it completed in about 3 months. We were able to live in the house while they did it all as everything was carefully planned and sequenced.Everybody associated with our job was a pleasure to deal with - they were all friendly, helpful, courteous, considerate and highly responsive to our wishes.An absolutely brilliant company to deal with - I doubt you could do better.We are absolutely delighted with the result - it exceeded our expectations!read more

I recently had my main bathroom renovated by Smarter Bathrooms and I cannot recommend them more highly. From my first contact with Ellen and the design team they were amazing. My bathroom was small and wanted to have a free standing bath so they... came up with a wonderful design to meet my needs. The trades people were all fantastic ably led by the project manager Damian. Nothing was too much trouble. I changed my mind one or two things as we went along and it wasn’t an issue. The end result is a beautiful bathroom that is lovely to use.read more

From start to end, I can sense the pride in the work and services the team provide and appreciate this. The tradesmen are polite and make an effort to keep the areas clean. The project completed on time to the project plan which I understand is not... easy! I can trust the quality and advice provided by the team. Perfection! , that’s the one word l would use to describe my experience with smarterBathrooms, after recently completing my long awaited bathroom renovation. From the moment l stepped into the Port Melbourne showroom l was made to feel like my... vision of what l wanted the bathroom to be was front and centre of every single interaction l had with Dee, Mirnes and Ellyn, plus the other wonderful staff l got to meet and work with over the course of this project. I knew what l wanted and the team worked on creating this. The attention to detail, the support in choosing tapware, and other items was always done with great care and time was always allocated to come into the showroom and look at their great stock items. The complete gutting and then renovation of a bathroom has the potential to be stressful, but due to the excellent communication skills of our project manager Mirnes, who never once rushed me asking all my questions, and always available to drop by and check on progress, and ensure everything was perfect!. Dee and Ellyn who always made sure l was happy with how things were proceeding and all the absolutely fantastic tradies ( special mention to John the tiler and Paul) , who were respectful of the family still living in the house ( and the dogs!). My vision was not a standard bathroom one, but the team put their heart an souls into realising my dream bathroom, it is a true masterpiece, and the family love it. The team at Smarter Bathrooms Plus has created a lovely contemporary bathroom and European laundry to compliment the deco style of our apartment.The old bathroom had many problems and the brief was tricky 'make a small inconvenient bathroom... spacious, as well as warm and accessible'. It was difficult to find a building company with the capacity to deliver the 'high end' results we were looking for, who were willing to take on a relitively small project. We got 3 quotes and in the end we went with SB+ despite it being the most expensive. Our bathroom is small so it needed to be as functional as possible but also creative with space. They were amazing from the start; from Stuart and Amanda who led us... through the design process to Damian and the trades, we have a great experience. Now we have a lovely new bathroom and some cabinetry in the lounge. We are very happy.Yes they are a bit more $$, but the service and quality is exceptional! Thanks so very much! I engaged Smarter Bathrooms+ to do a complete renovation of the small bathroom in my apartment. The whole process from initial design consult with Ellen to the close out meeting was a very positive experience and I am very happy with my new... bathroom.I chose to work with them, in part, because I needed to be able to walk away on day one and return 6 weeks later to a finished room, and that's exactly what we were able to achieve.The project was well-managed, the few queries/adjustments that arose were able to be handled quickly and efficiently by text or video call. Importantly for an apartment, they were happy to work within the Owners Corp rules and there were no complaints from other residents during the works.Trades did a great job and kept my apartment surprisingly clean considering the amount of work done in a relatively tight space.Above all, the team were wonderful to work with for my first renovation project. Smarter bathrooms recently completed a project for us (Dec 2024) which involved a redesign of our master bedroom, ensuite bathroom and a new walk-in wardrobe.Like most projects, there were some ups and downs but the end result that was delivered... by the team is great and we are very happy with the finished outcome.All challenges faced during the project were handled professionally and to our satisfaction. The smarterBATHROOMS team were good to work with and had similar levels of attention to detail to my wife and I. They always responded to feedback with good grace even when the tiling on the curved wall wasn't quite right for the third time. ;-)We highly recommend them. They are a professional, trustworthy business. We will consider them again when we come to do future refreshes of our kitchen and family bathroom in the coming years.read more

We waited 27 years to renovate our bathroom and I am more than happy with the result. From the moment I made the first phone call to the time the keys were handed back to me, the team at Smarter Bathrooms+ were excellent. The Designer made sure... that the bathroom design was exactly what we wanted and within our budget - she was also able to take our small space and make it feel large! It's the first time we have ever felt like we had a bathroom that was roomy! Time was taken to make sure we were happy with all aspects of the build.There were no surprises during the build as a comprehensive initial investigation uncovered any additional work that was required. This was good as it was all factored into the costs at the start. If we needed to adjust anything to compensate for this we were able to do this at the start.I was also very impressed with the Project Manager of the build. He kept us up to date with all of the work. We received a calendar in advance indicating what to expect each day and if this changed the Project Manager advised us in advance. He was also very responsive to any questions that we had. Likewise all of the trades that they used were polite, caring of the home they were in (as we were onsite for the build), and all were experts in their trades.Overall, I would recommend Smarter Bathrooms+ to anyone who wanted to renovate a bathroom, kitchen, laundry, etc. Their communication is excellent, their work at all stages is outstanding, and the end result is 11/10!(Please note photos are pre clean - when they hand the keys back the bathroom is spotless.)read more

I have a beautiful yet functional bathroom with so much storage space. Every tradie was meticulous and checked that I was happy. If Smarter Bathrooms said that they would be there, they were. They genuinely cared. (I had an unrelated plumbing problem. Nick and Nei came on a late Friday rather than have me in trouble over the weekend.)I have attached a photo of the tiling as the tiler did an excellent job of matching the pattern. I requested a door stop and was given an elegant doorstop, not just your regular run-of-the-mill one.I asked for a bathroom with a Wow factor and that is what I have. From my initial approach to Smarter, I was impressed. Nadia responded to my queries in a polite, informative manner and soon after I was introduced to the lovely Ellen who soon got the ball rolling in regard to my bathroom renovation.If patience... is a virtue, then Ellen has it in spades. A previous costly renovation a few years earlier, had resulted in me having a badly leaking shower recess and suffering much angst, so I was reluctant to commit to another project without adequate assurance that the faulty construction would not be repeated. This Ellen provided along with her excellent knowledge and experience in the design filed. Then along came the calm efficiency of the delightful Vrushali. Between them, Ellen and Vrushali got me over the line.Next came Mirnes. What can I say! What an amazing Project Manager. From the outset, Mirnes inspired confidence and showed an incredible ability to check each stage of the construction, ensuring that work was being completed to the highest standard. His standards are high and for that I am extremely appreciative. If Mirnes says something will be done, then you can rest assured that it will be done. Along the way, I had to regularly touch base with Ellen and Vrushali with a stream of queries and question and they always got back to me promptly and never once did they make me feel that I was being a nuisance. although I am sure at times I was!As I mentioned previously, the tradesmen seemed to be genuinely friendly and keen to provide an excellent quality of work. They were considerate of working around household dynamics.To summarise, my reason for rating Smarter so highly is that I feel fortunate to have had such a great team working on my behalf to ensure a satisfactory outcome of my bathroom renovation. From the outset, with every interaction from planning to implementation to final touch ups, the process was easy and I had the assurances I needed that everything would go to plan.I shopped around and did my research, but no one else showed the... charm and kindness of the Smarter Bathrooms+ staff. From my first contact, to the final walk through of my renovations, I couldn’t have asked for more from this company. Ellen, the designer created two new bathrooms & a kitchen by listening to exactly what I wanted. There was no pressure to add... things for the sake of it. Every meeting was conducted with friendliness, patience, kindness & attention to detail. No stone was left unturned to provide me with exactly what I wanted. I’ll admit to being full of nerves about the scope of the renovations that would be undertaken. Far larger than first planned. However once I handed the keys over to the project manager, & left them to it, the nerves disappeared. The company dealt with the body corp, the concierges & made sure none of my immediate neighbours were inconvenienced. Since the completion of the project, the company has endeavoured to fix any minor issues with speed & thoroughness. The process has been great from the start, very friendly team of staff looking after the overall project. Ellen, Aaron and Daniel... have been great to deal with and perform their jobs extremely well in what is a difficult situation overall with bathroom reno's inside an apartment. Simply amazing - I asked Smarter Bathrooms+ to renovate a small to medium sized bathroom at my place, and they did a wonderful job. The work was of the absolute highest quality, I've never seen tiling work done so meticulously and the attention to... detail was amazing.Michael, Mirnes and Grace did an absolutely amazing job of designing the bathroom and making sure the renovation went as smoothly as possible. These guys were great! They worked through Covid and respected all the restrictions to make us feel comfortable. From design to installation we were happy with every step and we are fairly fussy. It was a difficult job in an old, badly constructed... downstairs space in a 60's house. We had specific needs and they met every one of them. We needed a deep but small bath and a seperate toilet and shower in a very small area PLUS we wanted a Japanese influence. Since completion the renovation has worked brilliantly, beyond our expectations. Could not recommend this company highly enough. On time and on budget! All staff were dedicated to the job and completed each stage with care and pride. Top shelf!read more

Without any hesitation, we would recommend SmarterBathrooms+. We had two bathrooms and a laundry renovated over May and June 2021.We've waited to write this review because we didn't want to be clouded by a transient new bathroom glow! However, two... months later and we couldn't be happier - both bathrooms look amazing. We wanted our ensuite to be bright and functional. The design was well thought out, and in reality moving around in there every day is easy and natural. We wanted our family bathroom to feel more like a sanctuary and I have never felt so relaxed in our massive bath with a good glass of wine and some mood lighting.Above all else, the design process with Ellen was fun. She listened to us and understood our style straight away. We trusted her, and at the same time felt very comfortable questioning some of her suggestions. She went above and beyond and made some daunting decisions feel easy. We also completely trusted our project manager, Kris. He was incredibly patient with all our naive trade questions and most importantly he had a higher level of attention to detail than we did. The organisation of all the people and trades seemed effortless from our perspective, and that is with a lockdown in the middle of our renovations when we were both working from home. All the individual tradies were polite, on time and left the space clean at the end of each day. It was also an easy process to change a faulty shower head once the project had finished.The whole project was on time and on budget. It is hard to put a price on well-informed, thoughtful design and excellent project management. As many of the other reviews say, SB+ are not the cheapest company, but we would say their expertise and level of service is well worth it. Not only would we highly recommend them to others, but we also look forward to renovating our kitchen with them. We are very happy, returning customers!read more

We couldn't be happier with Smarter Bathrooms! We used them in 2019 to completely redo our upstairs master bedroom, bathroom, robe and study area and our downstairs bar. We got them back again in 2020 to redo our kitchen and convert our rumpus... room into a home office. Our second project was particularly challenging due to COVID restrictions and being heavily pregnant, however we got there in the end and we now have an incredible home that we love so so much! I had no idea how much gutting and replacing an upstairs bathroom would or should cost but I had been burnt before from trying to do renovations on the cheap so I chose Smarter Bathrooms despite their quote being a bit higher than the others. I am... so glad I did because their service was comprehensive.From a design consultant who helped with the plans to all the competent trades overseen by a project manager my experience was very good.Can’t say 3 weeks of tradies in my place with all the expected noise and dust was a holiday but Anthony, the project manager, was so across everything and so responsive to any query or issue, he made it all as positive as I had hoped. He came every day, sometimes multiple times to check progress and make sure I had no problems and when any minor issues arose he dealt with them straight away.The company were very reasonable to deal with and fixed a couple of other small things for me while they were there.I love my shiny new bathroom and I think it was great value in the end.read more

If you are looking someone to handle your renovation, you are in good hands with Smarter and better still, when they say they guarantee it, they mean it.Update 19 Feb 21: We had an issue with the under floor heating where it was shorting out the... electricity in our bathroom. With other companies, you'd be chasing through hoops to get their tradies to come out and look at it and then tell you if they will do it under warranty and generally it is a bit of a nightmare. However dealing with Smarter was quite the opposite. After a few calls, they came out to look at it, told us what the problem was and then helped to schedule for it to be fixed. It all went very smoothly and stress free. Everyone that came out was friendly and punctual. If they told you they were going to be there at 9, they were there at 9. You didn't have to chase them up. Thanks to Mark and the warm tech guys for making the whole process stress free.Original Post: This was the second time we used Smarter Bathrooms and we were once again very happy with the results. In our second time around, we didn't even shop around. We already knew we wanted to use Smarter Bathrooms again.Renovations can be a truly stressful time but the Smarter Bathroom guys minimize the stress in every conceivable way.In my review, I won't talk about how great they were, you can read about that in other reviews. In this review for my second time round, I'll outline two key learnings from my experience with Smarter Bathrooms that might help you in your bathroom renovations.Key learnings:1. Listen to your designer. Both times we worked with Russell and the first time around he suggested underfloor heating. But being a cheapskate, I decided to go with heated towel racks instead. The second time around, guess what we got? Underfloor heating. The designers at Smarter Bathrooms will work with you to design the best bathroom for your budget. They are do not try to upsell you anything and have your best interests at heart.2. Relax - you are in good hands. The second time around, I was able to relax much more knowing that we were in good hands. The first time I was an anxious mess of wandering if everything was going to schedule, how it was going to look and if everything was going to still work. This time around Mirnes kept us updated on every stage and even helped with small requests that we made.I cannot recommend these guys enough. If there is a third time we have to renovate, I would choose Smarter bathrooms again.read more

We reached out to smarter bathroom when our existing bathroom’s tiles and floor broke through due to the previous renovator’s poor waterproofing work and repairs or renovations really weren’t an option anymore.We were a bit worried about the... timing as I was 6-7 months pregnant at the time and were worried that having renovations with a newborn would be too stressful.We decided to go ahead and get a quote and initial design. We worked with Ava. She came over and I shared with her my thoughts on layout and design and what we were looking for. She absolutely nailed the renders and what we were looking for. She was absolutely great to work and collaborate with.The SB+ team were transparent about the range of costs from the start but also about what in the design would drive the price up or down or what we could play around with or items we could save in our existing bathroom to make things fit with our budget.In the end they shared a timeline with us working with our concerns around my due date and were transparent the whole way about what periods might cause a bit of noise or disruption or not.During the project, our project manager was Mirnes and he was fantastic. In fact everyone who SB+ sent over to our house was lovely and respectful. They did a good job protecting our house and cleaned up after themselves everyday. They were often done by the early afternoon. I work from home and with a lot of calls and meetings so having people who were going to be considerate was crucial and SB+ really delivered. They were open and communicative with us throughout the project and did everything they could to accelerate the timeline.In the end the project went really well and we absolutely love our new bathroom! Mirnes and his team have such a great attention to detail and picked up and fixed things that I didn’t even notice. You can tell that they do work to last for a longtime.Would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a stress free and well managed project with high end finishes and a great bathroom at the end!read more

From planning to completion, Dee (designer), Deepthi (detailer), Nick Long (project manager) and the wonderful team of trades (from demolition to final touches - carpenter, plasterer, electrician, tiler, caulker, plumber, glazier) have given us the... most beautiful new bathroom. So impressed with the detailed planning and patience whilst changing and tinkering during the planning process. During the build, we made a couple of necessary changes, and a couple of optional ones. A seamless experience from concept through to completion. This is a highly professional outfit from the initial consultation and design to an incredibly straightforward contract, expert friendly trades, outstanding workmanship and superb, efficient... project management with great communication. Alex and the team did everything they could to make sure we were happy with the outcome and with a very high attention to detail. Any issues were communicated with photos and an explanation where necessary and unlike other builders I have dealt with, you always felt that you were dealing with a straight shooter with high emotional intelligence. In addition they were incredibly tidy and clean, protected walls and furniture and took their health & safety obligations seriously. The final completion pack with all relevant guarantees, compliance certificates, insurance details and maintenance recommendations capped off a great experience, not to mention that they finished 2 weeks before the estimated completion date. Living in regional Victoria and tackling an apartment kitchen and bathroom renovation in Melbourne seemed quite overwhelming until we met with Ellen from Smarter Bathrooms +. Ellen was phenomenal, in her easy going nature, great communication skills... and interior design expertise. It was a super easy process to come up with the designs we liked and make any changes we needed. Everyone in the process has been fabulous, John. Hettel, Alex and the constant being Ellen. From first meeting to handover we have a beautiful kitchen, laundry and bathroom in less than 5 months with minimal downtime out of the apartment. All the trades have been high quality and respectful keeping on track the whole way. Regular updates, FaceTime and photos being sent through when we couldn’t be there. A truly 5-star experience with Smarter Bathrooms.They are not cheap - and some on here won't get past the quote stage before declaring "overpriced" etc.But as is famously said "Good stuff ain't cheap, cheap stuff ain't good"....and here are... the reasons - they employ top tradespeople who do a thorough and proper job so that, not only does the end result look fantastic, but you know all that beauty is underpinned by quality workmanship and attention to the detail that really matters and ensures decades of use to come.They bring in a wide range of specialist tradespeople, all of it expertly project managed in a timely fashion.Our project involved a kitchen, two bathrooms, a laundry, butler's pantry and a separate toilet (and a full timber re-flooring).As a result we had* waterproofing experts* plumbers* electricians* carpenters* cabinet makers* tilers* corking specialists* flooring specialists* painters* plasterers* designersand of course, the Project Manager.You try and arrange and coordinate all of that and make sure all the work is of the highest quality.A big project and all of it completed in about 3 months. Perfection! , that’s the one word l would use to describe my experience with smarterBathrooms, after recently completing my long awaited bathroom renovation. From the moment l stepped into the Port Melbourne showroom l was made to feel like my... vision of what l wanted the bathroom to be was front and centre of every single interaction l had with Dee, Mirnes and Ellyn, plus the other wonderful staff l got to meet and work with over the course of this project. I knew what l wanted and the team worked on creating this. The attention to detail, the support in choosing tapware, and other items was always done with great care and time was always allocated to come into the showroom and look at their great stock items. The complete gutting and then renovation of a bathroom has the potential to be stressful, but due to the excellent communication skills of our project manager Mirnes, who never once rushed me asking all my questions, and always available to drop by and check on progress, and ensure everything was perfect!. Dee and Ellyn who always made sure l was happy with how things were proceeding and all the absolutely fantastic tradies ( special mention to John the tiler and Paul) , who were respectful of the family still living in the house ( and the dogs!). We got 3 quotes and in the end we went with SB+ despite it being the most expensive. Our bathroom is small so it needed to be as functional as possible but also creative with space. They were amazing from the start; from Stuart and Amanda who led us... through the design process to Damian and the trades, we have a great experience. I engaged Smarter Bathrooms+ to do a complete renovation of the small bathroom in my apartment. The whole process from initial design consult with Ellen to the close out meeting was a very positive experience and I am very happy with my new... bathroom.I chose to work with them, in part, because I needed to be able to walk away on day one and return 6 weeks later to a finished room, and that's exactly what we were able to achieve.The project was well-managed, the few queries/adjustments that arose were able to be handled quickly and efficiently by text or video call. Smarter bathrooms recently completed a project for us (Dec 2024) which involved a redesign of our master bedroom, ensuite bathroom and a new walk-in wardrobe.Like most projects, there were some ups and downs but the end result that was delivered... by the team is great and we are very happy with the finished outcome.All challenges faced during the project were handled professionally and to our satisfaction. The smarterBATHROOMS team were good to work with and had similar levels of attention to detail to my wife and I. We waited 27 years to renovate our bathroom and I am more than happy with the result. From the moment I made the first phone call to the time the keys were handed back to me, the team at Smarter Bathrooms+ were excellent. The Designer made sure... that the bathroom design was exactly what we wanted and within our budget - she was also able to take our small space and make it feel large! It's the first time we have ever felt like we had a bathroom that was roomy! Time was taken to make sure we were happy with all aspects of the build.There were no surprises during the build as a comprehensive initial investigation uncovered any additional work that was required. This was good as it was all factored into the costs at the start. If we needed to adjust anything to compensate for this we were able to do this at the start.I was also very impressed with the Project Manager of the build. He kept us up to date with all of the work. We received a calendar in advance indicating what to expect each day and if this changed the Project Manager advised us in advance. He was also very responsive to any questions that we had. Likewise all of the trades that they used were polite, caring of the home they were in (as we were onsite for the build), and all were experts in their trades.Overall, I would recommend Smarter Bathrooms+ to anyone who wanted to renovate a bathroom, kitchen, laundry, etc. Their communication is excellent, their work at all stages is outstanding, and the end result is 11/10!(Please note photos are pre clean - when they hand the keys back the bathroom is spotless.)read more

Nick and Nei came on a late Friday rather than have me in trouble over the weekend.)I have attached a photo of the tiling as the tiler did an excellent job of matching the pattern. From my initial approach to Smarter, I was impressed. Nadia responded to my queries in a polite, informative manner and soon after I was introduced to the lovely Ellen who soon got the ball rolling in regard to my bathroom renovation.If patience... is a virtue, then Ellen has it in spades. A previous costly renovation a few years earlier, had resulted in me having a badly leaking shower recess and suffering much angst, so I was reluctant to commit to another project without adequate assurance that the faulty construction would not be repeated. This Ellen provided along with her excellent knowledge and experience in the design filed. Then along came the calm efficiency of the delightful Vrushali. Between them, Ellen and Vrushali got me over the line.Next came Mirnes. What can I say! What an amazing Project Manager. From the outset, Mirnes inspired confidence and showed an incredible ability to check each stage of the construction, ensuring that work was being completed to the highest standard. His standards are high and for that I am extremely appreciative. If Mirnes says something will be done, then you can rest assured that it will be done. Along the way, I had to regularly touch base with Ellen and Vrushali with a stream of queries and question and they always got back to me promptly and never once did they make me feel that I was being a nuisance. although I am sure at times I was!As I mentioned previously, the tradesmen seemed to be genuinely friendly and keen to provide an excellent quality of work. They were considerate of working around household dynamics.To summarise, my reason for rating Smarter so highly is that I feel fortunate to have had such a great team working on my behalf to ensure a satisfactory outcome of my bathroom renovation. From my first contact, to the final walk through of my renovations, I couldn’t have asked for more from this company. Ellen, the designer created two new bathrooms & a kitchen by listening to exactly what I wanted. There was no pressure to add... things for the sake of it. Every meeting was conducted with friendliness, patience, kindness & attention to detail. No stone was left unturned to provide me with exactly what I wanted. I’ll admit to being full of nerves about the scope of the renovations that would be undertaken. Far larger than first planned. However once I handed the keys over to the project manager, & left them to it, the nerves disappeared. The company dealt with the body corp, the concierges & made sure none of my immediate neighbours were inconvenienced. Since the completion of the project, the company has endeavoured to fix any minor issues with speed & thoroughness. The process has been great from the start, very friendly team of staff looking after the overall project. Simply amazing - I asked Smarter Bathrooms+ to renovate a small to medium sized bathroom at my place, and they did a wonderful job. These guys were great! They worked through Covid and respected all the restrictions to make us feel comfortable. From design to installation we were happy with every step and we are fairly fussy. It was a difficult job in an old, badly constructed... downstairs space in a 60's house. We had specific needs and they met every one of them. We needed a deep but small bath and a seperate toilet and shower in a very small area PLUS we wanted a Japanese influence. Since completion the renovation has worked brilliantly, beyond our expectations. Could not recommend this company highly enough. On time and on budget! All staff were dedicated to the job and completed each stage with care and pride. Top shelf!read more

Without any hesitation, we would recommend SmarterBathrooms+. We had two bathrooms and a laundry renovated over May and June 2021.We've waited to write this review because we didn't want to be clouded by a transient new bathroom glow! However, two... months later and we couldn't be happier - both bathrooms look amazing. We wanted our ensuite to be bright and functional. The design was well thought out, and in reality moving around in there every day is easy and natural. We wanted our family bathroom to feel more like a sanctuary and I have never felt so relaxed in our massive bath with a good glass of wine and some mood lighting.Above all else, the design process with Ellen was fun. She listened to us and understood our style straight away. We trusted her, and at the same time felt very comfortable questioning some of her suggestions. She went above and beyond and made some daunting decisions feel easy. We also completely trusted our project manager, Kris. He was incredibly patient with all our naive trade questions and most importantly he had a higher level of attention to detail than we did. The organisation of all the people and trades seemed effortless from our perspective, and that is with a lockdown in the middle of our renovations when we were both working from home. All the individual tradies were polite, on time and left the space clean at the end of each day. It was also an easy process to change a faulty shower head once the project had finished.The whole project was on time and on budget. It is hard to put a price on well-informed, thoughtful design and excellent project management. As many of the other reviews say, SB+ are not the cheapest company, but we would say their expertise and level of service is well worth it. Not only would we highly recommend them to others, but we also look forward to renovating our kitchen with them. We are very happy, returning customers!read more

We couldn't be happier with Smarter Bathrooms! We used them in 2019 to completely redo our upstairs master bedroom, bathroom, robe and study area and our downstairs bar. We got them back again in 2020 to redo our kitchen and convert our rumpus... room into a home office. Our second project was particularly challenging due to COVID restrictions and being heavily pregnant, however we got there in the end and we now have an incredible home that we love so so much! I am... so glad I did because their service was comprehensive.From a design consultant who helped with the plans to all the competent trades overseen by a project manager my experience was very good.Can’t say 3 weeks of tradies in my place with all the expected noise and dust was a holiday but Anthony, the project manager, was so across everything and so responsive to any query or issue, he made it all as positive as I had hoped. He came every day, sometimes multiple times to check progress and make sure I had no problems and when any minor issues arose he dealt with them straight away.The company were very reasonable to deal with and fixed a couple of other small things for me while they were there.I love my shiny new bathroom and I think it was great value in the end.read more

We live in an apartment building on Port Phillip bay at Port Melbourne which has strict protocols for any renovation to minimise noise and inconvenience of other owners.. If you are looking someone to handle your renovation, you are in good hands with Smarter and better still, when they say they guarantee it, they mean it.Update 19 Feb 21: We had an issue with the under floor heating where it was shorting out the... electricity in our bathroom. With other companies, you'd be chasing through hoops to get their tradies to come out and look at it and then tell you if they will do it under warranty and generally it is a bit of a nightmare. However dealing with Smarter was quite the opposite. After a few calls, they came out to look at it, told us what the problem was and then helped to schedule for it to be fixed. It all went very smoothly and stress free. Everyone that came out was friendly and punctual. If they told you they were going to be there at 9, they were there at 9. You didn't have to chase them up. Thanks to Mark and the warm tech guys for making the whole process stress free.Original Post: This was the second time we used Smarter Bathrooms and we were once again very happy with the results. In our second time around, we didn't even shop around. We already knew we wanted to use Smarter Bathrooms again.Renovations can be a truly stressful time but the Smarter Bathroom guys minimize the stress in every conceivable way.In my review, I won't talk about how great they were, you can read about that in other reviews. In this review for my second time round, I'll outline two key learnings from my experience with Smarter Bathrooms that might help you in your bathroom renovations.Key learnings:1. Listen to your designer. Both times we worked with Russell and the first time around he suggested underfloor heating. But being a cheapskate, I decided to go with heated towel racks instead. The second time around, guess what we got? Underfloor heating. The designers at Smarter Bathrooms will work with you to design the best bathroom for your budget. They are do not try to upsell you anything and have your best interests at heart.2. Relax - you are in good hands. The second time around, I was able to relax much more knowing that we were in good hands. The first time I was an anxious mess of wandering if everything was going to schedule, how it was going to look and if everything was going to still work. This time around Mirnes kept us updated on every stage and even helped with small requests that we made.I cannot recommend these guys enough. We reached out to smarter bathroom when our existing bathroom’s tiles and floor broke through due to the previous renovator’s poor waterproofing work and repairs or renovations really weren’t an option anymore.We were a bit worried about the timing as I was 6-7 months pregnant at the time and were worried that having renovations with a newborn would be too stressful.We decided to go ahead and get a quote and initial design. We worked with Ava. She came over and I shared with her my thoughts on layout and design and what we were looking for. She absolutely nailed the renders and what we were looking for. She was absolutely great to work and collaborate with.The SB+ team were transparent about the range of costs from the start but also about what in the design would drive the price up or down or what we could play around with or items we could save in our existing bathroom to make things fit with our budget.In the end they shared a timeline with us working with our concerns around my due date and were transparent the whole way about what periods might cause a bit of noise or disruption or not.During the project, our project manager was Mirnes and he was fantastic. In fact everyone who SB+ sent over to our house was lovely and respectful. They did a good job protecting our house and cleaned up after themselves everyday. They were often done by the early afternoon. I work from home and with a lot of calls and meetings so having people who were going to be considerate was crucial and SB+ really delivered. They were open and communicative with us throughout the project and did everything they could to accelerate the timeline.In the end the project went really well and we absolutely love our new bathroom! Mirnes and his team have such a great attention to detail and picked up and fixed things that I didn’t even notice. You can tell that they do work to last for a longtime.Would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a stress free and well managed project with high end finishes and a great bathroom at the end!

From planning to completion, Dee (designer), Deepthi (detailer), Nick Long (project manager) and the wonderful team of trades (from demolition to final touches - carpenter, plasterer, electrician, tiler, caulker, plumber, glazier) have given us the most beautiful new bathroom. So impressed with the detailed planning and patience whilst changing and tinkering during the planning process. During the build, we made a couple of necessary changes, and a couple of optional ones. All work was accomplished without fuss, with great detail, and executed with beautiful workmanship. Thank you Nick for including us with all the decision making along the way, calmly dealing with the hiccups, providing options for problem solving, and listening to my ideas and making my vision happen. A seamless experience from concept through to completion. This is a highly professional outfit from the initial consultation and design to an incredibly straightforward contract, expert friendly trades, outstanding workmanship and superb, efficient project management with great communication. Alex and the team did everything they could to make sure we were happy with the outcome and with a very high attention to detail. Any issues were communicated with photos and an explanation where necessary and unlike other builders I have dealt with, you always felt that you were dealing with a straight shooter with high emotional intelligence. In addition they were incredibly tidy and clean, protected walls and furniture and took their health & safety obligations seriously. The final completion pack with all relevant guarantees, compliance certificates, insurance details and maintenance recommendations capped off a great experience, not to mention that they finished 2 weeks before the estimated completion date. Highly recommended.

So happy with our renovations with Smarter bathrooms + !! From the design, through the renovation process to sign off it was seamless and stressless. They took care of everything and it turned out exactly how we had planned and finished according to the schedule. Living in regional Victoria and tackling an apartment kitchen and bathroom renovation in Melbourne seemed quite overwhelming until we met with Ellen from Smarter Bathrooms +. Ellen was phenomenal, in her easy going nature, great communication skills and interior design expertise. It was a super easy process to come up with the designs we liked and make any changes we needed. Everyone in the process has been fabulous, John. Hettel, Alex and the constant being Ellen. From first meeting to handover we have a beautiful kitchen, laundry and bathroom in less than 5 months with minimal downtime out of the apartment. All the trades have been high quality and respectful keeping on track the whole way. Regular updates, FaceTime and photos being sent through when we couldn’t be there. We cannot recommend Smarter Bathrooms enough, 5 Stars!!
