At the recent Kitchen and Bathroom Design Awards in South Australia, the smarterBATHROOMS+ team brought home every Victorian award as well as a couple of other even more prestigious awards.
After a busy year of creating innovative designs and crafting a proud collection of new kitchens and bathrooms for our clients, the smarterBATHROOMS+ team were showered with praise at the recent nation-wide awards ceremony.
Coming home with an impressive 9 wins, each one highlighting excellence in a smarterBATHROOMS+ bathroom or kitchen design, our team’s position as leaders and innovators in the industry has been cemented once again.
“At smarterBATHROOMS+, we feed off each others’ energy – it’s a real culture of collaboration,” says Vanessa Cook, our award-winning Design Manager.
Cook took home some of the most prestigious awards of the evening, including the KBDi Designer Large Bathroom VIC award and the KBDi Bathroom Designer of the Year VIC. Her Scandinavian-influenced styling and timeless aesthetics were greatly admired by the panel, securing Cook the KBDi Australian Bathroom Designer of the Year Award AUS.
“We keep up-to-date with the latest trends by observing contemporary designs from all of the world, especially Europe, to ensure we continue to lead the way in bathroom and kitchen design,” commented Cook.

Another huge moment for smarterBATHROOMS+ came when Alexa Beer won the award for KBDi Kitchen Designer of the Year VIC, followed by National Winner KBDi First Time Entrant AUS, for her kitchen in this Murrumbeena home.
Alexa’s approach was to craft a feeling of spaciousness using materials that would create interest and encourage conversation. The space has been heavily influenced by a handcrafted slab of Marri timber that the client had carefully sourced from Western Australia.
Stephanie O’Donohue won the award for Victoria’s Best Small Bathroom Design with this interesting design in a Maribyrnong home.
She also won for Victoria’s Best Small Kitchen Design with this dark and lustrous kitchen in a Port Melbourne home.
The design displays distinct attention to the finer details with outbursts of charm such as the curved kitchen bench top and the brassy, reflective splash back.
Kat Siketa was the proud winner of the KBDi Designer Large Kitchens VIC award for her beautifully-crafted kitchen in this Hampton home.
The proposal to the client was bold and extreme, an entirely black kitchen with a feature white marble lowered dining table. The concept was to create a feeling of luxury and indulgence, ensuring that every detail was a little different to the norm.
The incredibly successful evening further solidified smarterBATHROOMS+ as a leading designer of high-quality and innovative bathrooms and kitchens. Pushing the bounds in terms of style and always refining for improved functionality, smarterBATHROOMS+ continue to inspire more and more customers to seek our help in creating an exceptional home worthy of a national award.
