Our client’s wanted their 1930 original Carlton North home to demonstrate a clever use of space and storage and incorporate textural elements throughout.

Removing the internal wall was key to creating the client’s dream kitchen, which was relocated to opposite side of the room facing north. The client wanted to utilise the natural light from the window, which we clad the reveal in messmate timber to carry through from bathroom. We designed the biggest island possible and made sure the client could still accommodate a dining room table.

Black textural melamine was the finish of the joinery with porcelain benchtops with a touch of copper running through. As we were unable to remove the chimney, we cleverly built around it and clad in matching melamine which looks fantastic. Every cabinet has concealed clever storage options, with a space tower pantry and magic corner being key. The laundry is tucked away in a cabinet and forms part of the kitchen.

Bespoke natural timber wall cabinetry personalizes the kitchen with the client’s loved of natural finishes. The handmade wall tiles soften the overall look and feel of the kitchen as does the brushed brass sink and tap.

The bathroom was another project completed prior by smarterBATHROOMS+ and the kitchen was the perfect style and design to embody the same warmth and light that the bathroom holds.

The clients couldn’t be more thrilled as their new kitchen and bathroom spaces has given the home a new lease on life, with the home now truly representing the clients’ love of natural finishes and clever design.
