Book Consult

Our client had recently moved into the property and was looking to add their personality to the space. The property was already quite eccentric in style which, coupled with the client’s love for bright colours, provided a brilliant springboard for inspiration for the ensuite (and bathroom and laundry which we also renovated).

THE BEFORE

The original ensuite layout was crowded with very little storage. It had a bath, but this was sectioned off by a wall and difficult to access.

There were many curves throughout the property and as such, in the design, we wanted to take advantage of this by bringing these curves tastefully into the ensuite. But first, storage…

IMPROVED STORAGE

Opening the space and maximising storage was a key priority for this renovation. We started by removing the hinged door and replaced it with a sliding door. This gave us additional space to install a larger vanity with practical draws for hidden storage.

MODERN TRANQUILITY

Our client wanted to keep a bath in the renovated ensuite and, because we were opening the space, we were able to incorporate a curved corner bath with a fluted profile. The soft curved corners of the mirrored shaving cabinet tied these curves together, and its addition to the space offered light and a beautiful entryway into the space. Overall, this helped craft the image of a private oasis – ideal for a mother of young girls!

We also refreshed the shower area, designing an enclosed glass shower with black tapware which was also utilised at the vanity area. The choice of black tapware was the client’s, who wanted the ensuite to be bold, textured and filled with colour; the black tapware, therefore, was a brilliant contrast to the bright colours chosen.

A BOLD STATEMENT

A bold green vanity and wall tiles are unexpected choices for a bathroom, but this suited the client’s personality perfectly and quickly became a feature of the space.  The boldness of the green was complimented nicely by the apricot terrazzo tiles and calmed by the addition of the white.

The terrazzo and green features were incorporated into the upstairs bathroom, allowing us to create two spaces that, while distinct, cohesively worked together throughout the property.
