This serene ensuite balances function and finesse, with sculptural finishes, layered lighting, and a palette built for calm.

Our clients wanted their ensuite to feel like a calming retreat—somewhere they could start and end their day feeling relaxed. The brief was clear: soft, refined, and elegant, with subtle sculptural details and a focus on quality finishes. It needed to be beautiful, but above all, it had to work well. 

We kept the palette warm and muted, letting texture and tone do the talking. The custom timber veneer vanity brings a sense of natural warmth, while soft curves in the mirrors and basins balance the clean lines elsewhere. The brushed nickel tapware adds a gentle, understated polish without stealing the show. 

One of the biggest challenges was the layout. Like many inner-city apartments, space was tight, and every inch had to count. We tackled this by designing custom joinery tailored to the clients’ storage needs—keeping clutter tucked away and the floor space open. Large-format tiles, seamless finishes, and full-height mirrors all helped the room feel more expansive and light-filled. 

Lighting was another important layer. We used a combination of overhead lights and wall sconces to make sure the ensuite feels functional when needed, but soft and inviting when it’s time to unwind. 

The finished result is calm, cohesive, and tailored to how our clients live. It’s a space that feels luxurious without being overdone—thoughtfully designed down to the last detail, and a natural extension of the rest of the home.
