A Victorian revival with quiet drama.
Set within a heritage home in North Melbourne, this bathroom renovation was about honouring the period’s bones while giving the space a personality entirely its own. Every material decision was made in service of authenticity, from the tessellated mini hexagon floor tiles to the classic white brick-lay subway tiles, finished with a striking black tile capping detail that traces the room like a fine pen line.

Warmth comes through urban brass. ornate tapware from Fienza brings a soft contrast against the crisp white tilework, while a Turner Hastings Mayer basin stand in brushed brass, topped with Carrara marble, anchors the space as its centrepiece.

But heritage doesn’t mean predictable. A client-sourced vintage mirror was custom-built into a fully functional mirrored cabinet. Alongside it, slim vertical storage with a fluted glass front adds texture and discreet function without disrupting the room’s clean lines.

The finishing move is deep green walls, painted with intention. It’s the detail that transforms the space from a faithful restoration into something bolder: moody, rich, and unmistakably considered.
The result is a bathroom that feels like it has always belonged in the home, while still surprising you at every turn.
