What brings you to Smarter, Steph?

After completing my Bachelor of Interior Design I knew residential was the way I wanted to go – in 2011 I joined Smarter where helping people put their stamp on their homes gives me a thrill & pride that keeps me coming back for more. And to have my designs backed up by Smarter’s team of experienced building professionals only makes me look even better!

Who’s your favourite designer?

I follow the work of a few locals that I love; I think Breathe Architecture can’t put a foot wrong. Everything Techne Architects touch turns to gold and I love what the ladies at Redfox & Wilcox do with their reclaimed furniture.

Is there a current design trend you believe will be here to stay for at least 5 years?

Timber, Timber, Timber. It’s not going anywhere.

Tell us about your latest, greatest project @ Smarter

Well I think the pictures of Brunswick Home speak for themselves!

I love that each room was created in harmony with the next, but they each have their own personality and distinct features. Plus, their 1yo German Sheppard, Kahn, was fun to visit too!

Working with my clients on this project was so rewarding. They wanted to take risks and have a big “gesture” in each room, but couldn’t pinpoint what or how. So when the design conversation began, I had so much fun bouncing ideas around with them.
