The transformation of a bedroom to a private ensuite and walk-in-robe created a personal sanctuary in this beautiful Edwardian family home, where the client could prepare for their day ahead or relax with a champagne and watch the sun set, creating a stunning space fit for relaxation.
The brief was to create a richly visual space inspired by nature that exuded relaxation.
The curved Corian vanity top immediately grabs the eye and the rounded square forms of this feature piece are emulated in the freestanding bath, vanity basin, shower screen and oversize mirror. As with nature there are no straight lines, the organic purity of this room is further enhanced by the feature tap ware to the vanity basin, a Hansgrohe Phillippe Starck designer piece.
Utilisation of natural light to the vanity and bathing area was part of the design challenge in this space with only one window to the room. Floor to ceiling stone tiles throughout cocoon the bather in natural materials, the feature wall of striking charcoal Italian marble giving depth and visual interest to the room, whilst ample walk in robes in muted organic tones complete the equation.
