What was once a small laundry accessed from the outside and a poky bathroom was opened into one great hall – which surprised everyone once cleared. The clients wanted a large shower area and a vanity with functional storage. Laundry facilities needed to be accommodated but to be as minimal as possible.
The bathroom boasts a large twin shower/wet area at the rear a substantial vanity flanked by two long windows and a concealed cistern toilet. A clever use of space and visual illusion totally conceals a laundry area behind the entrance door. The timber plank tiles have been used across the floor but, continue up the rear wall and across the ceiling of the shower area. While at once confounding it embraces and lends coziness back to the large dimensions of the room.
