Client Brief

This kitchen was designed for a couple seeking a more modern, refined space that felt cohesive and easy to use. The existing layout lacked flow, with recessed cabinetry disrupting the line of sight and making access awkward. The brief was to create a seamless run of cabinetry, improve storage and functionality, and deliver a sophisticated aesthetic. The client had a strong vision particularly around materiality carefully selecting finishes to achieve a warm yet elevated look. 

Palette

The palette balances richness with restraint. A striking Calacatta Verde marble becomes the hero, bringing depth and movement through its natural veining. This is paired with warm timber tones in Polytec Plantation Ash and grounded by Laminex Daintree base cabinetry. Brushed carbon fixtures introduce a contemporary edge, while soft curves seen in the island and splashback help break up the linear elements and create a more fluid, welcoming feel. The overall result is layered, sophisticated, and quietly bold. 

Function

The redesign focused heavily on improving usability and flow. Tall cabinetry was brought in line to create a cleaner, more accessible layout, eliminating awkward recesses from the original design. Storage was significantly increased, with LeMans corner solutions ensuring previously hard-to-reach areas were fully utilised. A key move was integrating cabinetry beneath the staircase, using matching finishes to conceal the structure and create a seamless look. The kitchen now supports everyday use with ease while maintaining a clean, uncluttered appearance. 

Product

The kitchen features Polytec Plantation Ash overhead and tall cabinetry paired with Laminex Daintree base cabinetry, creating a warm, natural foundation. A Calacatta Verde marble benchtop with a curved waterfall edge and matching splashback acts as the central design feature, softening the space while adding visual impact. A Phoenix 4000 series large single bowl sink is paired with a Nuage pull-out mixer in brushed carbon, combining practicality with a refined finish. Integrated appliances, soft-close drawer systems, and a LeMans corner unit enhance functionality, while updated windows and layered lighting including wall lighting ensures the space feels bright, open, and inviting.
