Fitzroy Ensuite Bathroom Renovation

The ensuite renovation in this converted Fitzroy warehouse aimed to transform the space into separate zones while maintaining an open and spacious feel. The existing layout lacked privacy, so the rooms were partitioned to create distinct areas. The wall division to the existing toilet was removed, allowing natural light to filter in from the east-facing window. 

The Client said,

‘I’d really like the space to be functional but have a tranquil, spa-like feel to the space. A little private haven next to the bedroom.’

To maximize space and create a free-flowing layout, all the core components, including the bath, shower, and vanity, were positioned on one side of the room. A full-length nib wall was constructed to house the plumbing facilities and provide an open shelf for everyday items. 

The shower was designed with an open format and a frameless panel, maximizing its size without dividing the space. This design choice contributed to the sense of openness and created a seamless flow within the ensuite. 

The vanity area featured a seamless solid surface vanity top in crisp white, accompanied by a single basin to maximize bench space. A warm timber veneer vanity cabinet and a large oval mirror cabinet in American Oak were added to provide storage and create a cohesive design. The vanity cabinet was set against subtle white textured wall tiles. 

In terms of aesthetics, brushed brass tapware and accessories were carefully chosen to complement the warm tones of the space, adding an elegant touch to the overall design. 

As a finishing touch, five Muuto Dots hooks in natural oak were incorporated to meet the growing family’s storage needs. These hooks not only provided practical hanging storage options but also added a stylish element to the ensuite. 

The renovated ensuite successfully addressed privacy concerns, optimized space utilization, and combined stylish design elements with functionality, resulting in a modern and inviting bathroom space.
