Hawthorn East

Kitchen, bathroom, ensuite + laundry

This home in Hawthorn East was bought by our clients as their new family home whereby they were wanting to extend their hallway and turn one of their bedrooms into a bathroom. The brief given by these clients for their renovation comprised of creating spaces that changed the location of the kitchen and dining area to create a more open flowing space, whilst housing new flooring throughout. This project saw a major transformation take place whereby structural elements were altered and new spaces were created within the home.

The kitchen was relocated from one side to another at the back of the client’s home, stairs were moved and the placement of the new kitchen where existing skylights where housed added more light to the space. A mixture of white and grey tones were used throughout this space. The island was the feature of this kitchen, the grey stone wraps around the island encasing it in stone with waterfall elements at each end. The island would be an area where the whole family could congregate and become a stand out feature to the space. A mirrored splashback on the back wall opened the kitchen up further with simple grey cabinetry to complement a modern look to the space. Tall Cabinetry housed a pantry, an oven tower and integrated fridge also. The Laundry was also thought of with the same tiles used in the Main Bathroom continued into this space and new cabinetry.

The ensuite and main bathroom complemented the Kitchen with the use of white and grey tones throughout. The main bathroom housed a freestanding bath, with a floating wash plane basin housing cabinetry underneath and a mirrored cabinet with strip lighting behind to draw light to the textured tiles on the walls. Chrome tapware kept the minimal and conservative look to this bathroom, showcasing the bath, tiles and basin as the stand out features.

The small ensuite packs a punch for a small space. From a double wash plane basin with cabinetry underneath to grey terrrazo tiles and black tapware. Double ceiling shower heads gave this room a dual purpose and the mirrored shaving cabinets enhance the sense of space in this room.

Here’s what the clients had to say: What a dream team!! From day one to the end, it was a joy to work with all, lead by Frans, Steph and Hettel. Always a “can do attitude” and all problems met with a solution which provided so much ease and piece of mind for a project that had potential for stress. Would highly recommend and definitely use again!” – Mena and Kristin

The completed renovation of these spaces were modern and functional and enhanced this home to a new level. Each renovated space complemented the next whether through tiles, tapware or design which created some stand outs to this home.
