Book Consult

Our St Kilda West client returned to us to renovate their kitchen after we renovated their two bathrooms a few years prior. They were so happy with the previous project, so we were the obvious choice for their kitchen upgrade.

A TRUSTED PARTNERSHIP

In designing the kitchen, we wanted the design to tie into that of the bathrooms to ensure we were creating a cohesive aesthetic throughout the property.

Given we had an existing relationship with our client, we were able to work through the design with her personality and taste in mind from the outset. Additionally, because our client worked a very busy schedule, and trust was already established (from the previous project), they wanted and felt comfortable letting us take the lead with the design proposal- a unique experience as many clients typically come to us with design ideas in mind. Their decision to give us the reigns is a testament to the high-quality client experience we offer and trust we establish with our clients.

THE DESIGN

We knew our client loved colour, and liked a feminine touch with a bold approach. For the design, we wanted to keep the kitchen light and bright to not dominate the space. We also picked up on the dark grey feature walls already in the room, as a point of inspiration for the cabinetry. Once installed, the profiled panels created texture and the bold statement we were after.

To achieve the feminine touch, we included pink-toned terracotta touches for the shelving and tiling along the wall. While the client was apprehensive about the colour choice after hearing “pink” uttered (they assumed it would be very vibrant!), they were pleasantly surprised and pleased with the proposed shade.

The final feature element was the incorporation of a veined reconstituted stone benchtop, bringing the pop of colour from elsewhere in the kitchen into the island bench.

INNOVATIVE STORAGE SOLUTIONS

The original kitchen had basic storage provisions, so we wanted to maximise storage and functionality within the same footprint.

The use of an integrated fridge gave us the opportunity to create an appliance pantry, and we also incorporated a lemans corner and cupboard off the dining area.

Rather than a typical pullout bin, due to space constraints, we installed two door-mounted bins typically used for vanities on either side of the sink. Our client was overjoyed with the completed kitchen, giving them a new space to entertain and, more importantly, bake delicious treats- a loved hobby during their downtime!
